Joshua Prabhakar has significant commercial experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. He has worked in multiple major therapeutic areas which include neurosciences, respiratory, dermatology, immunology, and rare diseases. He has led 6 key launches for organizations that he has been a part of and has been recognized for his deep expertise and ability to quickly decipher what is required to make a launch successful. His launch experience is supplemented by his significant leadership across a product’s life-cycle. He has been a key decision maker in product evaluations, and led products from Phase 2 all the way through to loss of exclusivity. In addition to his line management experience, he has led global strategic planning and medical commercial joint product teams.
Prior to his current role as the Vice President of Marketing at Dova Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Prabhakar worked for 15 years at GSK in roles of increasing responsibility in Sales, operations and marketing. He then was asked to lead the launch of a major asset in migraine for Alder biopharmaceuticals. He served as the vice president of marketing and was integrally involved in the development of compliant policies, digital infrastructure, brand vision, brand strategy, segmentation pricing etc. He also served as the lead for the cross functional team for assets for the organization, He has led products delivering over $4Billion to products delivering $50 million, he has worked in large pharma as well as in a start up environment and has developed the ability to lead across the spectrum of situations.
In addition to his significant commercial experience Mr. Prabhakar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Huntington University and a Master’s Degree in Molecular Genetics from Purdue University. He completed his thesis and is a published author. He also serves as an advisory board member for Delta West; an organization dedicated to providing healthcare to pediatric aids patients and underserved populations in India.
