Martin has over 25 years of pharmaceutical commercial and strategic leadership through roles of increasing responsibility for U.S. and global cross-functional and commercial teams. Areas have included product launches, life cycle management, licensing and business development, alliance management, marketing/sales. While at Novo Nordisk, his team managed an insulin portfolio (mature and launch brands) generating $4.5B in annual sales and grew the GLP1 brands to $2B in sales. Specifically, the GLP1 efforts included the pre-launch and launch of Victoza® exceeding forecast (2.4X target) and surpassing $2B mark (the first brand to achieve this). Earlier in his career, he worked in commercial, business development, strategy and marketing roles of increasing responsibility at Johnson & Johnson, Aventis, Hoechst Marion Roussel and Marion Merrell Dow. Martin received his Pharmacy degree from Auburn University and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Health Care Administration with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Marketing from the University of Mississippi. He currently teaches a course in US Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Marketing at Rutgers MBA global business management program. Martin has a wonderful wife, Mary, three children (Jay, Clare, Grace) and two Portuguese water dogs (Goldie and Chief).
