As Global Head, Office of Innovation, Global Health and Scientific Engagement, Seema works at the intersection of media, science, business and society to expand Johnson & Johnson's reputation as a champion of science and a global health authority, and to help build public trust in science and advance good science and public health policy. Through partnerships, curated experiences and innovative programming like Champions of Science, the Dr. Paul Janssen Award platform and The Road to a Vaccine, she brings together the public with health and science leaders to solve serious health challenges and build belief in science and technology. Seema is accountable for Johnson & Johnson's overall innovation communications strategy, positioning the Johnson & Johnson R&D pipeline, and leading the company's COVID vaccine communications and external affairs efforts. She is the key strategic partner for Johnson & Johnson's Vice Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Paul Stoffels, a member of the R&D Management Committee, and a member of the Global Corporate Affairs Leadership Team. She leads communications for key reputational pipeline and platforms priorities, such as the Lung Cancer Institute, cross-sector oncology platform, mental health, and groundbreaking areas of innovation including data sciences, CART therapy, and gene therapy.

Seema also serves as a science, innovation, and public health ambassador for Johnson & Johnson to organizations including the World Economic Forum, the Gates CEO Roundtable, the New York Academy of Sciences, and other partners, where she represents the company's scientific engagement efforts, scientific voice, and commitment to diversity and inclusion in science and technology.

Prior to her enterprise-level roles, Seema drove Pharmaceutical R&D communication with the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. She was the chief communications officer at the Whitehead Institute/Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Genome Research, where she played a key role in enhancing worldwide public awareness and understanding of the Human Genome Project. In addition, she worked with the U.S. National Institutes of Health under Dr. Anthony Fauci, and at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

A passionate champion of science and the role of women in society, Seema has published hundreds of news and feature articles on science, medicine, and the role of women, for which she has won several awards. She has won recognition for her championship of science and her efforts on empowering women and minorities and serves on several boards and advisory committees to advocate for women and for public engagement in science.
